DRAFT PLANNING (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 1991

10.30 am

The Minister of State, Northern Ireland Office (Dr. Brian Mawhinney): I beg to move That the Committee has considered the draft Planning (Northern Ireland) Order. 4 The purpose of the draft order is to bring together in one enactment the Legislation relating to planning in Northern Ireland contained in the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 and subsequent amending provisions, principally those enacted in 1978 and 1990. The draft order has been considered by the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills, which has agreed that it is purely a consolidation measure, which does not change the law. I commend the draft order to the Committee.

Question put and agreed to.
