The Solicitor-General (Sir Nicholas Lyell): I beg to move, That the Committee has considered the draft Legal Aid (Functions) No. 2) Order 1989. 4 Save to say what a pleasure it is to see you in the Chair, Sir John, I shall not delay the Committee. The order under the Legal Aid Act 1988 confers on the Legal Aid Board the function of determining the costs of representation in care proceedings in the magistrates court and Crown court, which was omitted in error when the orders were approved by the House on 22 March.

Resolved, "That the Committee has considered the draft Legal Aid (Function) (No. 2) Order 1989.
