[MR. MICHAEL SHERSBY in the Chair]

Customs Duties (ECSC) (No. 2) Order 1985

10.30 am

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Trade and Industry (Mr. John Butcher): I beg to move, That the Committee has considered the Customs Duties (ECSC) (No. 2) order 1985. 4 This order consolidates earlier orders changing customs duties in accordance with ECSC tariff and reimposes the Community's normal third-country duty rate on imports of one ECSC category from Yugoslavia until the end of the year. The United Kingdom has no trade interest in this category of goods, but has to reimpose duty along with the other member states for the Community's tariff treatment to be consistent.

10.31 pm

Mr. Bryan Gould (Dagenham): I am grateful to the Minister.

Question put and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Committee has considered the Customs Duties (ECSC) (No. 2) Order 1985.

Committee rose at twenty-nine minutes to Eleven o'clock.
